WHAT IS THE LAUGH OUT LOVELAND COMEDY FESTIVAL ALL ABOUT?

Founded in 2023, The Laugh Out Loveland Comedy Festival takes place August 1-4, 2024 in downtown Loveland, CO. The festival was co-founded by Dan Bublitz Comedy (Sno Jam Comedy Festival Co-Producer and Founder), Jeff Albright (LoCo Comedy Founder, and Russ Bondi (comedy super fan).

WHERE IS LOVELAND, CO?

Loveland, CO is in the front range of northern Colorado. It's just off interstate 25 15 miles south of Fort Collins, CO, and approximately 60 miles north of Denver, CO.

WHO SHOULD SUBMIT TO LAUGH OUT LOVELAND?

​

Comedians of all levels are encouraged to apply. We’re looking for a wide variety of talent from working professionals to new comics hot on the scene. Submissions are open to all cool comedians over the age of 18, if you're an a-hole, don't apply.

HOW DO I SUBMIT TO LAUGH OUT LOVELAND?

​

Submitting is simple, fill out the submission form and pay the submission fee.

​

HOW ARE SELECTIONS DECIDED?

​

​Selections are determined by our Selection Committee made up of members of the Laugh Out Loveland comedy festival team, all of whom are working comedians and industry professionals. Every video will be screened, and we look at stage presence, originality, and overall humor.

​

WHAT ARE THE VIDEO REQUIREMENTS?

Please submit a working 3-5-minute video link hosted on YouTube or Vimeo of ORIGINAL material from one consistent set (NO BEST OF CLIPS). Please make sure that your video is public or unlisted. If we can’t access your video, we can’t watch it, and unfortunately, your submission will be DQ'd.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SUBMIT?

​

It costs Twenty American Dollars ($20 USD) to submit to be considered to perform at Laugh Out Loveland and that’s it. That’s right, the fees do not go up as the deadline for submissions gets closer.

​

WHY IS THERE A SUBMISSION FEE?

​

As they say, “time is money” and it takes time to screen all of the submissions. Having a submission fee helps deter every comedian on planet Earth from applying. The fees also help take care of expenses incurred by the festival such as housing, food, drinks, etc. for the comedians.

WHEN DO THE SUBMISSIONS CLOSE?

​

Submission close May 31, 2023, at 11:30 PM MST.

WHEN ARE SELECTIONS ANNOUNCED?

​

Selections will be announced on or around the first part of July.

​

WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF BEING SELECTED?

​

15-20 comedians are selected to perform at Laugh Out Loveland, but the chances of participation depend highly on the total number of eligible submissions we receive and the quality of the talent pool.

IF SELECTED TO PERFORM, HOW MANY SHOWCASES WILL I GET AND HOW MUCH TIME?

​

If selected to perform at Laugh Out Loveland, comedians will get 1-2 10-minute showcase spots depending on the schedules of all the comedians. There may be other opportunities to perform themed shows and mics throughout the weekend.

DO I GET TO CHOOSE WHEN I PERFORM?

​

Not exactly. You will get to give us your preferences and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

WILL THERE BE ANY INDUSTRY AT THE FESTIVAL?

​

We try to get the industry to attend and as much as we’d like to say yes, we can’t make any promises. Most likely there will be some regional industry.

​

DOES THE FESTIVAL PROVIDE LODGING?

​

YES, the festival will provide lodging for comedians that live more than 2.5 hours away. Lodging may include Airbnb, staying with locals, hotels, etc.

​

DOES THE FESTIVAL PROVIDE TRAVEL EXPENSES?

​

No, all performers are responsible for their own travel expenses.

​

WILL THE FESTIVAL PROVIDE FOOD & DRINKS TO THE COMEDIANS?

​

Sometimes. We'll do our best to provide some food and drinks at the shows. This all is dependent on our partnerships with our sponsors and venues.

​

DO COMEDIANS GET PAID FOR PERFORMING AT THE FESTIVAL?

​

No, however, we do book headliners that are paid. These spots are decided by our producers and are very limited, so please don’t contact us about these spots unless you are an agent with a roster of headliners.

IF I’M NOT SELECTED TO PERFORM, CAN I GET A REFUND?

​

Sorry, all submission fees are nonrefundable. If you don't have the financial resources, please save your money and apply another time.

HEY, I GOT SELECTED, DOES MY FESTIVAL PASS GRANT ME ACCESS TO ALL OF THE SHOWS?

​

If there is room, then yes. Ticket holders will always have seating priority.
